What camera/lens did you use to get this?

[this is good] Wow, the size of that snowflake is unreal! But maybe that’s I’ve only seen snow 3 times in my life. 🙂 The juxtaposition between the flake and the rust is really nice, I really love both photos!

[this is good] Those are gorgeous. It’s easy to forget that when there’s a big snowfall (especially when you’re shovelling it), that that white blanket is made up of tiny flakes that are perfect and unique.

    thanks guys!

reesie – I have a Canon S2iS and it’s “super macro” mode allows for 0cm macros.  Seriously, I once took a photo of the condensation on my lens.

Lilia – that’s actually the edge of a terracotta pot on my deck.  I had about 1/2 an hour of the pretty flakes before the snow changed into little fluff balls, similar to the ones you get on sweaters.  (you can sort of see the clumpier snow in this shot taken about two hours later.)

melissa – It’s so true!  But those perfectly flat flakes only fall in the right conditions.  Usually I get one or two days a year when I can catch them.
