Dremel Pumpkin Tool

Okay, today’s archival photo is not beautiful, it’s not over-sharey, but it is a giggle (for me at least). Complete with 10 pumpkin carving templates!

I guess the question is: does it actually work better than a knife? Anyone want to chime in here with their favourite pumpkin carving tools? I’ve only done carved a pumpkin once. Russ invited me over to let me experience the joy of butchering a pumpkin, drinking cocktails and scaring the kiddies. It was grand!

BTW – happy Halloween everyone.

Seriously, at Williams Sonoma they are selling a dremel tool for carving pumpkins. No, we didn’t buy one. We already have a dremel, though I doubt either of us would be willing to use it on a pumpkin.

I find that little tiny saws are helpful, because with a knife I sometimes cut too far. The saw is a bit more controllable. I have used a power drill before to make small holes, but never any other power tools. We have a Dremel in the house, but haven’t tried it on a pumpkin.
