Snowmagedon and the Ford Blue Party 2013

On Friday in the midst of the biggest blizzard of the year, so far, we bundled up and headed out to attend the Ford Blue Party, affectionately hashtagged #FordBlueTO, a big party hosted by Ford Canada in preparation for the upcoming Canadian Auto Show.

A great group of people braved the weather to make it out and while the place wasn’t packed to the rafters, I was surprised at how many people did make it out given the weather and the location of the Sound Academy. Even though it was a Ford party, driving wasn’t really the best choice, especially after one or two of those margaritas. Cabs were impossible to get (we even tried getting one through Hailo to no avail), so we took the TTC.

We were a little worried when our bus got stuck in the snow but our driver was able to get us out after a little while. Ford did provide a shuttle to and from Union but we didn’t find out about that until after our walk in the snow from the bus stop to the party. Which was actually fun (that’s the benefit of dressing for the weather and walking with someone you love).

The theme was “Blue is the new Green” and the room was filled with people and cars dressed in all shades of blue.

I know that looks like black, but we’re all in blue, dark blue.

If you didn’t glam up enough at home, or your glam got slammed by snow on the walk from TTC, there was a spa up on a little platform where you could get a blue manicure, fake lashes, blue glitter woven into your hair, and a massage just to loosen you up that extra little bit.  You know, if the blue margaritas they handed us when we walked in the door didn’t do the trick.

There was great food.

A killer dance crew.

And of course the cars.  As you may have already seen, they had setup a photo shoot so everyone got to pose with the Ford Mustang.

Ford was showcasing their 2013 models and introduced the 2014 Ford Fiesta.

It was a fun night, with some fantastic people, lots of blue and since we lived so close and had a great shuttle driver, a safe ride all the way home in a Ford Expedition.

Thank you for the Hailo mention, Alexa. I’m sorry we couldn’t get you a cab! The weather was an absolute nightmare. I’m glad that we got to hang out a bit at the event – it was great to see you and Gerry!

@jkozuch We completely understood.  In this city when the snow hits, the cabs are busy!  I figured Hailo was my best bet to get a cab and when there wasn’t one available, I want not surprised.
      Great seeing you too!
