I was recently given an Olympus Pen Lite (E-PL3) to test and evaluate (the white one on the bottom left). And while I haven’t had much time lately to play with it due to the Pickle, HoHoTO and the holiday, I have been using it regularly. It has actually become my go-to camera and I’ve and found myself reaching for it before my SLR because of it’s size. It’s small and easy to carry around in my hand while I walk, which means I’m shooting more again even though I don’t have time to process all the images and play…
Michael Smith Cartoonified — Originally uploaded by LexnGer Taken at yesterdays OCTA summit discussing culinary tourism. I have many more to share (where I didn't give into my new addiction to the cartoon feature on my cell phone) but I love the messiahic nature of this shot combined with Michael's strong message of storytelling and no shame! No shame in making money. No shame in telling your story. No shame in working hard and being rewarded fairly for it. As I tweeted during the day, I love conferences that talk about sustainability which includes financial sustainability as part of the…
Last week, my friend Andrea ( aka @missfish of challenged herself to take one photo an hour for a day. I thought this was another one of her brilliant projects and a great way to test the camera one my new Palm Pre. So, one photo an hour, all day, taken with my Pre… Let's see where the day takes us. Since my day started both late and rushed: Hour 1 – skylight at Atrium on Bay Here's hoping I don't burn myself on McD's coffee like the last time I was here. Though it would make for an adventurous…
Watching the Changes — Originally uploaded by LexnGer I just found out that this photo of mine was included in BlogTO‘s Flickr Forum post today. Check out the other 5 images selected for the theme Change It was taken on Saturday (more on Saturday’s festivities later) as I waited for the Sherbourne bus in Allan Gardens. I was drawn in by the leaves trimmed with colour. I assume it’s because they got frost-bitten since the outside rim is crispy and dead. It’s interesting that just a couple of days later these same leaves are under snow.
I realized there is absolutely no point in writing up my own description of our Nuit Blanche experience when Rockr has captured it so brilliantly. We all pretty much agreed that this year, Toronto’s Nuit Blanche was less interesting in terms of exhibits than it was last year. I mean, come on. Three boxes — one vibrating, one vibrating harder … Keep reading The Race to Save the Giant Locust on Junkii’s blog HA! Thought you got off that easy did you? What I will say, that Rockr failed to mention, is he was curating our experience and that we eschewed almost…
What a whirlwind weekend. As you probably know, I zipped down to Saint John to attend the opening of 50 Paces: an Installation. I flew down the day of the show, and I was up at 4am to catch the recommended Airport Express for my 7am flight via Montreal. For some strange reason, I wasn’t able to sleep on the bus or on either plane. It might have had something to do with my dire and unsatisfied need for imodium from the time I got on the plane. (For future reference, your travel kit should include at least one imodium and some advil……
