It was my mother’s birthday on Monday, and unfortunately we weren’t able to be in the same place at the same time. Though I did get to drop in and see her a couple of days earlier, thanks to my friend Leona and our roadtrip to PAB. I thought it might be fun to do a little collage of the photos I pulled together for mom’s retirement party.

In our annual celebration of birthday-birthday, we were joined by a whack of our friends at the Crown and Dragon to eat wings, drink beer and pose with pickles. We attempted to sample each of the 30-types of wings available at the Crown and Dragon, but unfortunately we missed 3 – Apple & Cinnamon, East Coast “Donair” and The Rookie BBQ (mild). Well, it’s not exactly that I’m saving up, but what I want is a shiny new Canon S5IS. No saving is necessary, since for my birthday Gerry handed me a big fat envelope filled with enough cash to buy me one courtesy of mom, the in-laws and of course Gerry himself. I'm posting quickly random bits about my day to address those concerned that I've been abducted by aliens. (You know who you are.) Yesterday was…
Gerry’s B’day. After his mind-blowingly thoughtful and loving b’day blow-out for me, just 9 days ago, I had a hard act to follow. I failed. We celebrated Ger’s b’day by moving my computer into the living room so I could keep working, ordering in Indian from Ruchi (Butter Chicken & Rogan Josh) and watching Star Wars III – Revenge of the Sith. I feel asleep during a fight/chase scene. Gerry put me to bed. I have a lovely man! On B’day Morning
I found these little sealed notes in my laptop when I opened it this morning. What a lovely surprise, at way too early in the morning. The first one, which I opened immediately, invited me to wake my honey “whenever [I] wish” and he’ll whisk me away for a lovely breakfast. How spoiled am I? I think I’ll wait ’til at least 7am.
Lex’s 40th
Well, I finally realized there was a self-timer on this camera. Just in time for my 40th b’day. So here I am with my b’day scarf from Heather. Day 15 – “A Couple Of Drinks”
Headed into town for a grand dinner at Debbie’s. It was her mother Phyllis’ b’day and the entire place was wonderfully decked out. Candles and hand painted fairies decorated the table and the place glowed. It was beautiful even before the feast was laid out… then it was almost overwhelming. After a lovely afternoon, and a great dinner the party started to disperse. Debbie was looking to keep the evening rolling.
