Who is this Travel Bunny?

Who is this Travel Bunny?

With the recent spurt of travel posts around #LexGoFurther, I have been sharing a fair number of photos of Travel Bunny, or the Travel Bunny as he is known to some. As a result, I’ve decided to answer some of the questions I've been getting from people who haven’t met Travel Bunny before.

Early Lex GetsThe Guggenhiem

Early Lex GetsThe Guggenhiem

It's Friday so this must be Bilbao. Up early for a "once in a lifetime opportunity" to photograph Frank Gehry's Guggenheim as the sun rose over Bilbao. My friend who instigated this adventure either wasn't there or was somewhere I couldn't find him. I got some lovely shots and then got to somewhere warm. After almost 2 weeks of people asking "aren't you cold?" The answer finally is "yes! I'm very cold" But it was worth it!

Soy La Prensa

Soy La Prensa

Sounds sexier than “I’m press” doesn’t it! I’ve spent the last 2 days at Forum Santiago squeezing every ounce of Spanish Carlos taught me out to engage with vendors and producers. And Matt has been charming the folks I can’t.It’s been an absolute joy! My people, albeit not my language. Lots of wine and gin! A strong focus on local, quality and the animals living right. Oh, and we’re close to the ocean so my hair looks great (I am a girl after all) and the air smells like home! Could it be better? Only if Gerry were here too,…

Or Frankfurt.

When I called dad yesterday Tuesday to natter, chat and nag, we discussed Spain.  Of course. When he confirmed: “so Sunday you will be in Spain?” I said “yes, assuming the Air Canada Pilots don’t go on strike. And assuming the ground workers in Frankfurt don’t go on strike either.” From that point forward every time I said “Spain”, he interjected “Or Frankfurt”.   At this point the only warning from Air Canada is “Due to potential labour disruption by security employees. Passengers are urged to arrive 1 hour earlier than normal.” Here’s hoping that Sunday afternoon I’ll be walking…

Have I Mentioned SPAIN!?!

Have I Mentioned SPAIN!?!

So, I’ll tell this in the short version and the long version.  And just this one time, I’ll tell a super-short version first. I am going to Spain on Saturday! [end of super-short version] I have been invited as a Canadian Delegate to the 10th Annual Cooking with Olive Oil Conference (el Encuentro Internacional de Cocina con Aceite de Oliva Virgen Extra)  at Consorcio Hacienda La Laguna.   Chef Matt Kantor, my friend and partner in the Secret Pickle Supper Club, is also a delegate and we’ve decided to extend our stay so we can also attend the Fórum Gastronómico in…
