I have recently started using Instagram more. After balking the trend and lamenting loudly, and frequently, about Instagram’s lack of collaborative, community-building and searching tools, I finally caved. I blame the Food Bloggers of Canada conference. Well, that and Instagram’s slick and quick interface which makes it so easy [...]
It’s true. It has happened. Let the bells ring out and the doves fly.
I bought a new camera!
Huzza, hurrah, hooray, I finally made the decision to buy an Olympus OM-D from the guys at Aden Camera who were incredibly helpful and had the best deal in town.
You have put up with long months of carping and moaning about the state of my Canon came [...]
I was recently loaned an Olympus E-PL3 Pen Lite (Olympus Pen Lite) to test and evaluate (the white one on the bottom left).
And while I haven’t had much time lately to play with it due to the Pickle, HoHoTO and the holiday, I have been using it regularly. It has actually become my go-to camera and I’ve and found myself reaching for it befor [...]
And finally the continuing saga of the camera that was a lemon and the camera manufacturer who let me down.
And I'll skip to the end for those of you who are end-readers, and/or have the attention span of a gnat.
I won. I have a brand new camera and was able to upgrade to one with some of the features my lemon had been lacking.
Okay, so it’s a photo of a camera manual… big whoop. And yet, it’s the NEW camera manual for my NEW CAMERA.
Big thanks to Randy from Future Shop for facilitating this under-warrantee replacement when Canon would not.
[more on this soon, along with more photos from my new, non-lemon, Canon T1!!!]
[[ backstory here ]]
I’d been craving dim sum for lunch for so long that I tweeted it… resulting in a table filled with like-minded folks eating dim sum, taking pictures and tweeting.
Chris (@gypsybandito) brought the #N97MiniTour crew along and we got to see and play with the new Nokia n97 mini
I have to say, it’s a pretty sexy smart phone.
Yup, I’ve done it again, another new camera had to be rushed to camera hospital this weekend.
This time the fail happened just as the food hit the table at WordCamp. Oh sure, I got lots of photos of people, but I didn’t get a single shot of the excellent barbecue being served up by Lou Dawgs for lunch. PMO.
Well, it’s not exactly that I’m saving up, but what I want is a shiny new Canon S5IS.
No saving is necessary, since for my birthday Gerry handed me a big fat envelope filled with enough cash to buy me one courtesy of mom, the in-laws and of course Gerry himself. I guess they were listening when I said “all I want is [...]
I haven’t decided yet whether I will be participating in NaBloPoMo this year, but as I was sitting here weighing the pros and cons, I got an email from myfriendisKate. She forwarded today’s Gourmet Weekly pointing me to a little lex-flavoured tidbit which I completely, COMPLETELY, over-looked. (and I’m blogging about it ju [...]
It’s been a crazy week with Gerry leaving Monday for vacation, 2 conferences – SOHO and the CMA’s Not For Profit – getting all the Ottawa proofing rolling (thanks guys!) and a fantastic opportunity to be a sponsor for Jer’s Vision Gala in Ottawa thanks to Sai from the ACE Card.
And then, finally, when I think I c [...]
Finally I got my S2 into Canon to get that evil E18 error checked out. (Henry's would have sent it in for me but there is a $50 refundable up front fee)
I held some vain hope that Canon would say "OH, an E18 error? And you *didn't* drop your camera? We'll fix it for free. NoR [...]

or more succinctly
Yes, it’s true, I was on the CBC this morning talking about the 50 Paces Project… and yes, my typing has improved because I’m using a real keyboard. I have 150 photos to label that need me to have internet access to match the label with the photo. Kindly my friends Sandy & MJ are letting me hid out in the basement with [...]
Gerry made me a light box… let’s see what trouble I can get into now.
Ger did a GREAT job making this and I love the results so far.Check it out
We’re already talking about Lightbox 2.0 for bigger items and shots and I haven’t even had it for 12 hours yet. I am lored!
