Vacating Our Vacation.

Have you ever been on vacation and realized it’s just not the right thing, not the right time, not the right experience for you?

Sure, you need the vacation. You need the time with your honey. You need more than a small glass of red wine to take the edge off. But somehow cooking over an open flame, listening to the crickets and watching the geese fly by over head is just not doing it for you.

Welcome to our vacation at the cottage. Nothing was wrong, but nothing was right either. It was beautiful, it was serene, it was not working.  We tried sleeping in.  We tried staying up. We tried fires, and cooking and red wine.  We tried visiting local cheese makers. We tried truck stop breakfasts.  We tried day tripping around Southern Ontario.

Cottage 4ways

None of it worked.

So we packed it in, and decided to finish up our vacation back in Toronto. Toronto is a great vacation destination.  Lots of people go to Toronto for vacation. Why not us?

Sometimes you need something else, I guess, huh? And I hear Toronto’s a great vacation destination…one day, Eric and I will get there together (10 years in November and we’ve still never been there at the same time!) 😉

It was totally the right decision! We’ve had a wonderful vacation since we got back (and have been able to work on the house & the business.)

Sep 12, 2006 — Nope. As long as I’m not at work, it’s the right experience for me 🙂
Lex Sep 12, 2006 –  oh sure… you say that now.  But when you were whining about that malt liquor and rain, who was wishing for another experience then?
