So what did you think about the Andy Warhol exhibit at AGO? I have not been to see it as of yet, I guess I will need to hurry up as it closes later on this month.

I’m pretty sure I’m not the best person to ask.

I didn’t bother with the cellphone-esque commentary, because I was there for the visuals and not someone else’s interpretation of them.  For me it was interesting, but not mind blowing.  I was expecting something that showed me the range of his work, and perhaps gave me more of a feel for his development from one experimental style to another.  Which may have been asking too much.  Especially since I didn’t listen to the commentary.

I walked away thinking it was a small exhibit highlighting death and sex.  Again, the commentary and films made it a much longer experience.  The show included a couple of the must have multi-print, multi-colour pieces, but they felt a little out of place.  I also felt that the gift shop was almost a neccessary part of the exhibit.  Without it, the show lacked colour and playfulness.

If anyone else reading this has been, I’d love to hear what you thought.

One note of interest – I saw more babies at this exhibit than any other I’ve ever been to.

Hey, I saw the exhibit, and wrote about it here. And I took my baby!
