Show us something you did, made, saw or bought this past weekend.

I whipped up a batch of Decadent Lemon Tarts and Key Lime Tarts (which while popular didn’t quite achieve decadent status).
If you had the choice which would you take for dessert – a Lemon Tart or a Key Lime Tart?

Lemon tart, hands down! I even prefer lemon danishes to any of the other fruit flavours.
What do I have to do to get my hands on one of those Lemon Tarts? I’m not being rhetorical, I really want to know.
Totally the key lime ones, as I’m from Florida, the home of key limes. Did you use actual key limes or the juice? If you use the juice, try to find stuff imported from the Florida Keys. I use it to make pie for the crazy people out here in LA who’ve never had it before. They’re always so impressed. Haha.
[this is good] they both look good…i’d take lemon. i adore lemon everything.
So far it’s 3:1 lemon:key lime. Interesting. Especially since at the dinner party the key lime tarts disappeared leaving a platter almost full of lemon tarts.
The Greenhows – what!? Even over a cherry danish? Wow, you are lemon-girl.
m.tinto – geeze… I guess you have to finagle a dinner invite that doesn’t include the phrase “feast” in it.
angelanoel – I used actual Key Limes. They are available about once a year sold in mesh bags. I’ve always wanted to try them fresh, so I was happy to try them out. Is the zest always so very bitter?
Amanda – I’m with you (and the other 2 lemon girls). Though I am a fan of lime, I prefer a lemon margarita to a lime one (no salt please).
Yes about the bitter zest. I never use it, ever. I just tend to use a little more of the juice. But part of that can be blamed on my fear of pesticides and the lack of organic key limes sold in California.
GACK! Good thing no one at the party ever reads my blog. Consider the Key Lime Zest moved into my don’t-use category.
