They’re Back

I’m struggling with my landlords – not because they are bad people but because they are new and the building is very old.

My primary struggle is that every week for the past month I’ve had 2 full days (at least) of workers needing access to my apartment and/or the roof.

This means I can’t work because they randomly pop in and out of my apartment like gophers.  I can’t do fact checking on the phone because they holler up and down the stairs and across the apartment, bang on the roof, on the stairs on the wall.  I can’t leave because they don’t close the door to the apartment or the building (even when they leave for lunch) and we don’t live in the safest of neighbourhoods.

The extra bonus is that “needing access” doesn’t always mean they show up.

Luckily everyone they’ve sent to work on the building is nice and I’m learning little bits of trivia about plumbing.  For example, did you know that the kitchen faucets in some condos can run water faster than the sink can drain it?

Well, now you do. Was it worth losing a day from your already tight schedule? I didn’t think so.
