Something For Everyone?

Yesterday Math and Computer buildingI received an invite to a  alumni networking event yesterday.  (Pink Ties Rule!)

The invite started with listing the following attendees:  President David Johnston;  The Hon. John Milloy, MPP Kitchener Centre and Minister of Training, Colleges & Universities;  the president of the Alumni Council, Bill Watson; and the deans from all six faculties.

Then it proudly announced “… there’s something for everyone!”

Really?

Beyond hearing more about Waterloo’s new , (which isn’t on the agenda), I can’t really see anything that would pull me away from my already overloaded schedule.

I wish people promoting events would consider that when they use phrases like “… there’s something for everyone”, they take a second and consider whether it’s actually true.
