Something For Everyone?
Yesterday I received an invite to a University of Waterloo alumni networking event yesterday. (Pink Ties Rule!)
The invite started with listing the following attendees: President David Johnston; The Hon. John Milloy, MPP Kitchener Centre and Minister of Training, Colleges & Universities; the president of the Alumni Council, Bill Watson; and the deans from all six faculties.
Then it proudly announced “… there’s something for everyone!”
Really?
Beyond hearing more about Waterloo’s new Knowledge Integration Program, (which isn’t on the agenda), I can’t really see anything that would pull me away from my already overloaded schedule.
I wish people promoting events would consider that when they use phrases like “… there’s something for everyone”, they take a second and consider whether it’s actually true.
