More Over 40
I’ve been watching the new magazine More – Canada’s Magazine Celebrating Women Over 40 – since it launched. I’m a big fan of Canada, I’m a big fan of celebrating, and hell, I’m a woman over 40.
I haven’t gotten a subscription but I have signed up for their Haute Flash newsletter. I’m watching to see how or if they will find that balance between being a women’s magazine (beauty, shopping, shoes) and the reality of being a grown up (beauty past pretty, shopping when you aren’t a size 10, and sensible shoes.)
So far they’ve done okay, touching on issues I’ve been interested in around health, travel, leadership and culture. They’ve even asked some interesting questions in their polls including Would you ever let your hair go grey?
However, today’s Letter from the Editor was the first time I really thought – “this might be a magazine for me.”

Midlife memory
Is it just busy-brain? Fatigue? Could it simply be middle age? Or am I losing my mind? If any of these thoughts strike you on a daily basis, welcome to my club!In the past week I have lost a pair of prescription glasses, left my car door open for hours after parking (particularly embarrassing when the office manager asks one of your staff to let you know), mixed up co-workers’ names, misplaced my daytimer (this is such a habit that I used to find little notes from my employees in it)…you name it. Perhaps the cause doesn’t matter as much as the solution. According to the latest research, I should be smoking pot!

JennG thanks. Love to see people respond on blogs which the author really doesn’t expect to be answered.
