5YAT: Control Freak!
30 December, 2004 – –14º
[This post is part of the 5 Years Ago Today Series]
Warning – just because the dogs are *bark*bark*bark*ing in the middle of the night, it is not necessarily necessary to throw a couple of logs on the fire. Because it is possible to be too hot when it is -17º outside.
Woke up feeling like I’d like some bread today, perhaps because I spent all night baking. So I started some sweet dough. I was thinking it would be fun to try making a braid of 3 rolled breads.
Spoke to Sue again and made a plan for tomorrow to walk out and see what the ice is like. She is off work all day so I can head over without rushing and it won’t impact her schedule if something goes oddly. If the ice is thin, I’ll just turn around and come home.
There’s really no major rush to get ashore – though I do feel a bit of a drive to keep testing. Humm. Control Freak! That must be it.
I wonder if this whole experience is around releasing control and learning to embrace the ebb and flow without trying to hold it in a white knuckled grip and wrestle it to the ground.
