Apple Bushel

One of the things I love about fall is the smell of apples! I grew up smelling them in the trees, then during high school there would be people selling apples by the bushel in the mal where I worked.

When we traveled to Kingston regularly for Thanksgiving, Gerry would agree to stop to let me pick bushels of apples in exchange for Apple Crumble on Demand.

Nothing says fall in Canada like the smell of apples in the air!

Apple Bushel

Food Share, one of the sponsors of Alphabet City, brought bushel baskets of apples for people to eat. What I liked was that they also made sure that anyone who came got one. Media, tourist and grubby looking guy alike – they all got an apple if they wanted one.
