Are you perpetuating sandwich culture?
What did you have for your last meal? Did it come between 2 pieces of bread-stuff? Wrapped in some sort of flat bread? Stuffed inside a carb-rich, handheld, baked good?
You may be perpetuating our society’s sandwich culture.
Yes, you!
How many of your last meals qualified as sandwiches, sarnies, subs, wraps, burgers, smørbrød, butties, sammies or panini?
Egg McMuffin for breakfast, PB&J for lunch, hamburger combo for dinner?
Or for the foodies: western omelette on rye; chicken tikka wrap; porkbelly with slaw on a steamed bau?
Are you putting down your forks and knives and picking up the wet towelettes of meals like pulled pork sandwiches, fried chicken waffle wraps, and po’boys.
Have you ever used the phrase “back off, get your own sandwich!“?
Perhaps you even eat your ice cream sandwiched between cookies.
You can see how insidious this is!
And for the conspiracists out there, consider this: “gluten-intolerance” became a thing soon after sandwiches started regularly appearing on dinner menus. Put that between your toasted rye with honey mustard.
So ask yourself, are you part of the sammie problem or part of the solution?
