Day at the Spa: Carrie Got A Massage, I Got A Head Injury

Or, how a day at the spa turned into a long-term concussion.

Recently my friend Carrie decided we needed a spa day. Just her and me out being pampered and driving the Blue Mountain countryside.

Once our crazy schedules finally aligned a plan was formed. With an extra little bonus. For me anyway. You see, my friend Carrie has friends who run a cranberry farm. In fact, Carrie worked at this cranberry farm for years and often goes up to help during the Bala Cranberry festival.

And I’ve been jonesing to go to a cranberry farm for years. Decades in fact. So I suggested that maybe, just maybe, we could go to the cranberry farm instead of the spa. (Yes, I’m that person.)
Carrie countered with “let’s do both”. (Because she’s that person!)

I couldn’t wait. Carrie and I always get into the best trouble together. In fact, to make it easier, I stayed up at the farm to reduce the travel time. Carrie swooped in and picked me up for our relaxation and exploration day was fantastic. Filled with laughs, conversation, and eventful activities that made it become both a great and awful day.

I’ve been excited to tell you about where we went and what we did, but unfortunately, I’ve been forced offline for weeks due to a concussion.

Yes, we went to the cranberry farm and Carrie filled her phone with photos, and I filled my phone with bog water. Then we went to the spa and Carrie got a massage and I got a head injury.

Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be coming back online. Slower than I like but steadily. You have seen, and will see a higher number of guest posts as I’ve asked some writers and family to step in and help a bit.
