Mac 4 Mom!

Mom finally made it up to Toronto and into the Apple Store to get her Brand New Mac!  She had been planning on a Mac Air, but when she finished her extensive research she realized that a MacBook Pro would be the best machine for her.

Less than 18 hours after she arrived in town, we were standing outside the Apple Store ready for shopping.  Which, of course, was part of the present.

We called the night before and set up a Personal Shopper to guide her through the selection & purchase of her Mac and complementary iPod (for Teachers.)

Mom’s personal Shopper was Dave. He was great!  He even set her up with her first One-on-One training session immediately after she bought the machine.

There have been some hiccups, like having to cart the Mac out to Yorkdale for the data transfer, a recurrently & highly-annoying SMTP-issue stopping her from sending emails and 72-hours to do an incomplete data transfer with no heads up that about two-thirds of mom’s contacts were missing.

All that aside, she’s delighted with her new iPod Touch and her shiny new Macbook Pro!
