Dad’s New Green Kayak

I’m planning to write the folks at Wilderness Systems and tell them how pleased we are with their Pungo 140 kayaks. (Even though I call them Pongo sometimes)

We’ve been using them on the river for 5 years now. From early spring when the ice goes out (usually March) to late fall when the ice starts coming in (often mid-late December), they are on the river carrying groceries, people and musical instruments to and from the island.

Last year’s version of the Pongo 140 and the slick new hatch coverings caused dad to abandon his plan to use the red kayak until it wore out. Still, 5 years of regular use and it was still in great shape when he switched.
