Day 34 – Friday – It all started with a little itch like this.

As it turns out there is a problem with the dishwasher. It showed up after I loaded it last week. So this morning I’m hanging out at the house working and waiting for the dishwasher repair guy.

Until he arrived I was very concerned I had broken it. He seems to think that the problem was I put the baking sheet I cooked the pizza on into the dishwasher without rinsing… and the lightness of the burnt cornmeal caused it to float to the top of the washing water, and then stick to the other dishes. So… while I didn’t break the dishwasher, I cause a week of hand washing and stress over the possibility that I broke the dishwasher. Damn!

Into town as soon as I had run all the dishes through the functioning machine.

As soon as I put my boots on I realized it was going to be "one of those days". I had forgotten that when I took my boots off last, one of the soles had ripped 1/2 off. Ooops.
However, they are the only foot wear I packed… so I tried gluing them until I could get to the shoe repair guy in the Rideau Centre. It mostly worked, except I decided to walk through the field… the sucking muddy field, which coated my boots and disengaged the sole again. Ooops.

The shoe repair guy fixed it in about 10 minutes for about $10. Then time was running tight so off I headed to do site visits in the Glebe and Ottawa South.

Jumped on a bus to Bank Street… an express bus… thats another $1.50 please for a 4 block ride. Ooops.

Grabbed a bus heading South… the one to Carleton… that turns off to the bus stations… Ooops.

Jumped off that bus and walked back to Bank Street. I did mention that it is raining didn’t I?

Did site visits in the rain. Then jumped on a Southbound bus to Ottawa South… this one Finally got me where I intended to go originally…

But now I was too early… so into 2nd Cup to warm up and dry off… and scratch… I’m damned itchy… itchy itchy… oh… and red lumps all under my hair, up my arm and onto my hand… oh… and in my lower back. Humm… very very ugly and irksome. I’m feeling pretty crappy and really really really really itchy.

Kine, Dr.C’s roomie joined me for a coffee and a gab at the 2nd Cup. Kine wagged her finger at me about the itching and insisted that I go to see a doctor tomorrow. After promising to go, we headed over to Quinn’s for a dinner of Fish & Chips and beer. We were joined by the Mathematician & the Physical Trainer, Dr.C & Mr.B and nattered on about the Apprentice, why you can’t divide by zero, 3rd wave feminism, Sex & the City, and quick snacks you can make for a pot luck. I had a great time! It’s absolutely wonderful that Dr.C has been so inclusive and allowed me to hang out with her friends.

Since the plan is to crash tonight at Dr.E’s one last time before she returns Sunday, I was able to stay out as long as I wanted. Mr.B drove me home and we made tentative plans for coffee sometime this weekend.
